Fireworks in honor of the coronation of Willem III and Maria II as King and Queen of Great Britain, 21 April 1689. Fireworks by the English merchants in Amsterdam set off from several ships on the water in front of the Kloveniersdoelen in Amsterdam. A fully loaded large boat in the front left fires a cannon and has a large flag on which is written: For the Protestant Religion and Liberty of England. Further forward, four fully loaded rowboats. Further on, near a similarly loaded bridge near the Staalstraat, the actual fireworks are set off. The streets, windows, and roofs are full of people, and there are more boats in the water. On one of them, to the left of the fireworks, burning barrels stand, and even further to the left is another bonfire.
