About this work
Fireworks set off from the Temple of Peace on December 9, 1721, on the Binnen-Amstel near the Kloveniersburgwal, celebrating the Peace of Nystad concluded between Russia and Sweden on September 10, 1721. The fireworks were commissioned by Christoffel van Brants, representative of the Russian crown in Amsterdam. With a Latin inscription in six columns.
