About this work

The border is decorated with grotesques that have five of the seven works of mercy as a theme. In the lower center, a depiction of the washing of feet. Sheet from a series of 4 sheets with a medallion in a broad border of grotesques with figures, animals and leafy vines on a dark ground. The border around the medallion and the outer border contain Dutch and French verse lines.
