About this work
Venus stands on the clouds and looks down upon mankind below on earth, who has surrounded themselves with tools and weapons, attributes referring to worldly matters. The blindfolded Cupid shoots one of his arrows downward. The theme of this emblem is: love conquers all, and we yield to love.
