About this work
A fool in his office. He gives a well-filled purse to a winged dog. The fool stands on a scale (and thus tramples justice underfoot). Behind him stands a demon with an arrow and bow and a blindfold. The demon symbolizes the sinful love of money. Around the image a cartouche. The personification of Fraud sits on the cartouche. She has two faces. With two rods she makes people desire knowledge (books) and money. Print with Latin inscription warning of the dangers of greed.
