About this work

The body of Christ is laid in a tomb by Joseph of Arimathea, Nicodemus, and two women. One of them is Mary Magdalene. Next to her stands an oil jar. In the front left, a figure with a burning torch stands next to an older man. In the back right, two mourning women, including Mary. In the front, a basket with the instruments of the Passion lies on the ground.
