About this work
After Cham has found his father Noah drunk and naked in a tent and mocked him, his brothers Shem and Japheth come to cover their father's body (Genesis 9:20–27). Cham's mockery is a violation of the Fourth Commandment: "Honor your father and your mother." In the background, Noah curses Cham and his descendants. The print has a Latin caption. The print series depicts the Ten Commandments through scenes from the Old Testament.
