About this work
Achan, an Israelite, is accused by Joshua of theft. He has stolen from the war booty, which was intended exclusively for God, and buried it in his tent. This is a violation of the seventh Commandment: "Thou shalt not steal." In the background, the punishment of Achan: he and his family are stoned and their bodies are burned by the Israelites. The print has a Latin caption. The print series depicts the Ten Commandments through scenes from the Old Testament.
