About this work
King Ahab lies disappointed on his bed because Naboth refuses to sell him his vineyard. His wife Jezebel stands next to the bed and promises him that she will ensure he gets Naboth's vineyard. Behind Jezebel stands a group of maids and palace guards in the doorway. On the left in the background a representation of what preceded: King Ahab asks Naboth to give up his vineyard. Below the representation a verse in Latin.
