About this work

A penitent sinner (Homo Poenitens) is received in heaven. Beside him stand the personifications Poenitentia and Dolor. Angels make music. Below the print is a Latin inscription and a reference to Luke 15:10. Under the Latin inscription is a handwritten Dutch text.
