Triumph of Truth

Truth tramples the personification of Deceit (half man, half skeleton). In her hand she holds a burning oil lamp, on her lap an open Bible. She is flanked by the female personification of Rebellion (Rebellio), with snakes in her hands, and the male personification of Catholic Obedience (Catholica Obedientia). Above them the dove of the Holy Spirit. Two angels hold a scroll with an inscription in Latin, they bring Truth a laurel wreath and a palm branch. In the sky the tetragram as a symbol of God the Father, surrounded by cherubim. In the margin an eight-line inscription, in two columns, in Latin.
