About this work
Left half: in a basin before a grotto, Mars and Venus are washed by eight putti. To the right, various mythological figures around a table, including Mercury and a satyr. Above to the right, four musicians. Right half: a large group of animals and mythological figures, including Bacchus, satyrs, lions and an elephant, standing and lying around a table. The table, covered with luxury tableware, stands under a canopy covered with grapevines. In the air, a large putto with a wind instrument floats on a cloud. In the background, Apollo on his sun chariot.
