About this work
Various mythological figures prepare the wedding feast of Amor and Psyche. On the left, Apollo sits surrounded by goddesses. In the center, a table set with luxurious tableware and a second table around which Bacchus, satyrs, Mercury, and the Graces are gathered. On the right, in a basin before a grotto, a god and goddess, possibly Mars and Venus, are being washed by putti.
