About this work
Woman of standing from France, standing to the right, with loose hair twisted into a bun on the back of the head. Dress with deep décolleté and wide collar, trimmed with lace, over the shoulders. The dark overcoat falls open from the front so that the brocade underskirt is visible. Hanging at the belt a small mirror, folding fan in the hands. Shoe with rosette. No. 1 from series of 12 costume prints from different countries.
