About this work
Woman of standing from Italy, in profile to the right, holding a fan. Diagonally on the forehead a small black hat with a feather. Large flat collar, trimmed with lace above an overcoat (flyer?) of brocade, with loose decorative sleeves. A closed fan in the left hand. No. 6 from series with twelve costumes from different countries.
