About this work
To the right Charles IV of Lorraine, dressed as the Sun, standing on a triumphal chariot drawn by horses. To the left an enclosed garden with Juno, Minerva and Venus, drawn by two people dressed as trees. Below a grotto with the workshop of Vulcan, drawn by four Cyclopes, and Apollo with a lyre and a group of musicians and singers on a podium, drawn by six music-playing ladies. Above the scene an inscription in French. This print is part of a series of illustrations for a book about the festivities (including a tournament) in the ducal palace in Nancy on 14 February 1627.
