Saint Maurus, Saint John Calybitas, Saint Marcellus I, Saint Honoratus (15-16 January)

Sheet with four oval images, each with inscription and date in Latin: top left Saint Maurus standing on the water and reaching out a helping hand to a man who threatens to drown, top right Johannes Calabytes on a straw bed in a simple hut with a man, a woman and a child at his feet, bottom left Saint Marcellus kneeling by a papal tiara, bottom right Saint Honoratus giving a staff and miter to a monk (or he receives these from the monk). This print is part of a series of prints depicting the saints and the Christian feast days of the year. Four scenes from one plate are always printed on one sheet. Including the corresponding title page and frontispiece, there are in total 124 plates (490 scenes). The three plates with the last 12 scenes (the moveable Christian feast days) are cut in the third state into 12 small plates, and issued with a separate title page.
