From the collection of Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam. Free to download, adapt and use — no permission needed.
Sheet with four oval scenes, each with inscription and date in Latin: top left Saint Joseph with the Christ Child and a flowering twig, top right Saint Joachim with his wife Anna and their little daughter Mary, bottom left Saint Benedict kneeling beside a raven with bread in its beak, bottom right Saint Catherine of Sweden tending to a sick person. This print is part of a series of prints depicting the saints and the Christian feast days of the year. Four scenes from one plate are always printed on one sheet. Including the corresponding title page and frontispiece, there are in total 124 plates (490 scenes). The three plates with the last 12 scenes (the moveable Christian feast days) were cut in the third state into 12 small prints, and issued with a separate title page.
