About this work
A ladder of old age: a double-sided ladder. On the steps of the ladder, in the form of a bridge, stand men and women aged 0 to 100 years. Under the bridge an allegorical depiction with various objects, including a column base, a skull, a crown and a mitre. Under the depiction a twelve-line verse in two columns. Numbered top left: No. 47.
