About this work
Apollo the Sun God sits on his chariot drawn forward by four horses. Around him dance the Horae, the goddesses of the seasons. Floating before him is a putto with a torch and Aurora. Scattering flowers, Aurora drives away the night and brings the dawn. In the center below is a coat of arms. Dedication and two-line text in Latin in the lower margin.
