Louis de Guise, in armor seated on a rearing horse, a commander's staff in the right hand. In the middle ground a battle (in front center and left a cavalry fight, right a fight between musketeers, behind them troops in marching order). In the background buildings in a hilly landscape, right a large mountain. Below the image a coat of arms and a French inscription.
