About this work
The armoured and seated on a throne Frederik Hendrik, prince of Orange-Nassau, is laurelled by Victoria. At his feet stand various allegorical figures. Liberty holds the lance with the liberty cap in her hand, Shipping kneels before the prince, Love with a child at the breast. In the middle Unity with the bundle of arrows. Mars offers the prince a sword. On the right Envy gnawing on a heart. On the left the stork of The Hague. Fame blows the trumpet in the sky. In the middle below a cartouche with a battle.
