About this work
Two scenes on one plate. In the upper scene the scourging of Christ. Two men beat him with a whip. In the lower scene the mocking of Christ. Christ, dressed in a cloak, receives a crown of thorns on his head and the men mock him. Above the scenes the reference to the Bible text in Dutch and French. Signed bottom left: 46.
