About this work
The god Apollo or Sol as personification of the planet Sun with attributes a scepter and a crown and the sun. At his feet lies the constellation Leo, his planetary child. He stands on a pedestal in an architectural frame decorated with ornaments. In the frieze at the bottom, the sun with a face is depicted in a medallion, flanked by playing putti. The print is printed with multiple woodblocks.
