About this work

A twelve-line panegyric in Dutch on the occasion of the accession of William V, Prince of Orange-Nassau, as stadtholder in 1766. The panegyric is mounted within an architectural frame, on either side a column with oranges. On top a cartouche with within it the image of a ship with Dutch flags and pennant on the sea, in the background the rising sun. Below the cartouche the text: He has ascended.
