About this work
Thomas, full-length, a spear in one hand and a book in the other. In the background left Thomas touches the wound in Christ's side; in the background right it can be seen how Thomas is killed by soldiers with lances. This print is part of a series of (probably) 16 prints, consisting of a title page and (probably) 15 portraits, depicting Christ, Mary and the apostles; it concerns a series of mirror-image copies of the so-called 'Great Apostles'.
