About this work
Bartholomew, full-length, a knife in his hand. In the background right it can be seen how he drives out evil spirits; in the background left it can be seen how he is flayed. This print is part of a series of (probably) 16 prints, consisting of a title page and (probably) 15 portraits, depicting Christ, Mary and the apostles; it concerns a series of mirror-image copies of the so-called 'Great Apostles'.
