About this work

At Peter's prayer, the demons holding Simon Magus in the air let go, so that he crashes to the ground. This print is part of (the second state of) a series of 29 representations of paintings and sculptures in churches in Rome, numbered 1-16 and 1-13. (The first state of this series, in which the prints are unnumbered, also includes a title page).
