Portrait bust of Charles de Saint Denis, Lord of Saint Évremond, laureled by a putto. The bust is surrounded by Mars (sleeping as a reference to the end of the military career of the portraitee), Philosophy (with scepter and globe), Lust (with harp), and Father Time. In the foreground, two putti are playing chess. In the margin, a four-line poem and a five-line inscription in French.
