About this work

History depicts the Fatherland's History in her book. She is in conversation with an allegorical female figure with wings on her head. Next to her stand Strength, in armor, and Liberty with her spear in hand. Behind them are soldiers. In the foreground, a lion surrounded by three putti, and various religious attributes. In the sky, Father Time pushes aside a drape.
