About this work

A soldier, full-length, holding a musket (a certain type of firearm) with both hands at his mouth and blowing over it, to remove any powder that may have fallen outside the pan (the powder reservoir). In his left hand, besides the barrel of the musket, a fork (musket fork) and a lit match. This print is part of the series of 43 numbered prints of musketeers from the Wapenhandelinghe.
