About this work
The apostle and evangelist John writes his gospel on the island of Patmos. Next to him the eagle, his gospel symbol. He looks to the sky. In the clouds Mary appears with the Christ Child as the apocalyptic woman and the seven-headed beast of the Apocalypse.
