About this work
The mourning Mary supports the dead body of Christ. Mary Magdalene kisses the hand of Christ. Behind her a figure is visible, probably Joseph of Arimathea, holding the cloth with which he took Christ from the cross. On the ground a bowl with a sponge and the nails of the cross lie. Below the print four lines of verse in Latin.
