Daniel Intervenes in the Condemnation of Susanna

Two elders appointed as judges harass Susanna, in the background, while she is bathing. They accuse her of adultery. To the left the two lead her before a judge, who sits on a throne to the right, and falsely accuse her, demanding that she receive the death penalty. Susanna looks up and prays to God that He knows what truly happened and that she is falsely accused. The young Daniel in the center loudly proclaims that he will not be guilty of Susanna's blood. Thereupon Daniel is allowed to question the elders to expose the false testimony of the two. Below the scene two four-line verses in Latin and a reference to the biblical text in Dan. 13.
