About this work
Oath of allegiance sworn by the cities and inhabitants of the principality of Orange to Prince William III, 7 May 1665. Ceremony with the delegates of the prince and of Orange seated on a stage set up before the Roman theatre at Orange, with a large crowd of spectators before the stage. Above the wall of the theatre the miraculous appearance of a crown of sunlight. Printed below the plate on the sheet the legend a-r and two verses on the inauguration and the phenomenon.
