About this work

Around a monument with the coat of arms of a cardinal and bishop, various allegorical figures sit and stand. On the left, believers stand by a lamb, and Purity sits with a white lily in her hand. On the right, the personification of the church: Ecclesia, with a chalice in her hand. Behind her stands Divine Inspiration, with the dove of the Holy Spirit above her head. In the foreground, putti play with the bishop's staff and mitre. On the left, the rooster of Peter.
