About this work
Coat of arms of William IV with a crown, decorated with the Garter and the motto of the Order of the Garter. The coat of arms is supported by two putti, in the sky the All-Seeing Eye. To the right kneels Faith with a censer at a burning altar with 'Christ's Merits' on it. Next to it an open book with 'Thank steadfast and prayer offer through I. Maan'. To the left a woman with a harp (Harmony?) and a starry robe, crowned with a laurel wreath. To the left stands a second woman next to a stork, an eagle and a lion. Probably produced on the occasion of the death of William IV on 22 October 1751.
