About this work
The coat of arms of the Calkoen family flanked by Amor, holding a flag of the VOC, and the maiden of Amsterdam. In front of the coat of arms, a statue of Buddha, Chinese porcelain, a salve pot, and possibly a roll of silk. Behind the coat of arms, two fasces. In the background, the Town Hall on the Dam and the masts of sailing ships. The allegory is framed in a border decorated with plants. On the right, also the cornucopia.
