Mercury leaves Antwerp. Due to the war and the closure of the Scheldt, trade in Antwerp is threatened with collapse. Mercury with the sleeping river god of the Scheldt on the left, and the city maid of Antwerp on the right. With a three-line handwritten Latin inscription. The central representation on the stage of Mercury, erected on the Sint-Jansbrug. Sheet no. 34 in a set of 43 plates illustrating the publication describing the entry of Cardinal-Infant Ferdinand of Austria into Antwerp on May 5, 1635, as the new governor of the Spanish Netherlands.
