Detailed view of the Makassar landscape with all battles fought there in the years 1666, 1667, 1668, and 1669 by the former governor Cornelis Speelman on behalf of the VOC. At the top, portraits of Speelman and Radja Palacca, King of the Bougies. Below the print, a text in four columns with a chronological description of the events, a six-line verse by Vondel, De Hooghe's dedication of this print to the VOC directors, and the legend 1-16.
