Victories of Cornelis Speelman over the kingdom of Makassar, 1666-1669. Detailed image of the landscape of Makassar with all the battles fought there in the years 1666, 1667, 1668 and 1669 by the former governor Cornelis Speelman on behalf of the VOC. At the top the portraits of Speelman and of Radja Palacca, king of the Bougies. Below the plate a text in 4 columns with a chronological description of the course of events, a verse by Vondel of 6 lines, the dedication of De Hooghe of this plate to the directors of the VOC and the legend 1-16.
