About this work

Allegorical representation: the temple of wisdom. On the left, two female figures with a celestial globe and an armillary sphere, a kneeling female figure, a male figure, and Fame with a laurel wreath and trumpet. In the temple, a sculptural group with a seated female figure and two river gods. Behind it, a statue of Mercury. Between the pillars of the temple, three more female figures on pedestals. In the sky, two putti with a portrait of an unknown man.
