About this work

Helena and her secret lover Ferdinand recite a pastoral poem to each other, in which the characters express their love. At the table sit Helena's father Manshart (the imaginary invalid) and his physician Narticoforus. Behind the physician stands his son Bartrand, for whom Manshart has destined his daughter. Scene from the second act of the play The Imaginary Invalid by Molière.
