About this work
The goddess Diana as Luna (the moon), riding on the clouds in her triumphal chariot, drawn by two female figures with arrow and bow. In the middle top the constellation Cancer. At the bottom a coastal landscape with the harbors of Venice, Istanbul and the Netherlands. Many boats sail on the sea. Trade is conducted in the cities. In the margin a Latin panegyric on the influence of the moon on the coastal regions of the Netherlands and the Mediterranean. The print is part of a seven-part series on the influence of the planets on the world.
