About this work

Venus and Amor, riding over the clouds in a triumphal chariot drawn by two turtledoves. In the top right the constellation Taurus, in the top left the constellation Libra. At the bottom a river landscape with cities. In the foreground elegant companies amuse themselves with music, food, drink and love. In the margin a Latin panegyric on the influence of the planet Venus on the regions of the Mediterranean (Cyprus, Venice, Thebes and Arabia). The print is part of a seven-part series on the influence of the planets on the world.
