About this work

The god Jupiter with lightning bolts in his hand. He rides in his triumphal chariot drawn by two eagles. In the top left corner the constellation Sagittarius, on the right Pisces. At the bottom a river landscape with the harbors of Mesopotamia, the Ottoman Empire, Italy, Spain and Hungary. In the foreground scholars engaged in science. In the middle a king listening to his advisors. In the margin a Latin panegyric on the influence of the planet Jupiter on the regions of the Middle East and the Mediterranean. The print is part of a seven-part series on the influence of the planets on the world.
