About this work
A frame with, in the center above, an angel appearing to the shepherds and announcing the birth of Christ. On the left in an oval, a representation of the visit of Mary to her cousin Elizabeth (the Visitation). On the right in an oval, a representation of the marriage of Joseph and Mary. In the center below, the Christ child as the 'Passover Lamb' on a cushion. Next to him a seven-branched candelabrum, a slaughter knife, and a jug.
