About this work

A frame with angels on the left and right taking souls out of purgatory. In the center above, Mary with the Christ child. Bottom left, the personification of Punishment, a woman with a whip and rod. Bottom right, the personification of Divine Grace with a burning heart and a pelican feeding its young with blood by pecking its own breast, entirely below purgatory.
