Judgment of Count Willem III over the bailiff of South Holland. Central scene: Count Willem III, from his sickbed, hands his sword to the executioner. In the foreground the sheriff of Dordrecht kneels, on the right the bailiff is being heard in confession by a priest in preparation for his execution. Central scene with six small scenes of the successive episodes of the legal proceedings of Count Willem III in the year 1336. Each scene has an inscription consisting of a proverb and a verse of two columns of eight lines. Numbered 1-5 and 7. The central scene numbered 6. Accompanied by an inscription of 4 columns and a description in 6 columns. 1: The bailiff tries to buy the farmer's cow. On the right the bailiff of South Holland with a bag of money, on the left the farmer and his family. In the background the cow is being milked by the farmer's wife. 2: The bailiff leads the farmer's cow away after exchanging it for a lesser specimen.
