About this work
Foreground left a seated angel pointing to the heavenly Jerusalem behind him. The narrow path leads to it. Foreground right a begging figure with a devil's head, sitting beside his crutches, points to the broad path where a feasting and loving company is gathered under a canopy. Behind them hell. In the middle foreground an old man walks with a sack on his shoulder filled with vices: carnal desire, greed, pride. Above in a cloud Christ separating the good and the bad sheep.
